7 months between posting!

Hey there!  I have thought off and on about posting again and hadn't realized that it had been 7 MONTHS since my last post.  With Facebook, Instagram, Google Plus, and so on, there really isn't much need to blog.  However, I like to do it once in awhile.  :)

We have been very busy with life.  Jack continues to amaze us with all of the learning that he's been accomplishing.  He is saying sentences and understands SO much!  He is such a good buddy to hang out with and our favorite times are when we are together as a family.

Over the past 7 months, we've had visitors, visited Michigan over Christmas, our dear dog Presley passed away, and we've continued with our adventures.  We really enjoy visitors.  It is a lot of fun to show our new home and town(s) to our loved ones.  Plus, you can't beat the weather!  It snowed here this winter and actually stuck for a day or so, but since everything basically shuts down, there really isn't anything to worry about.  I had such a hard time with Michigan winters and especially the icy conditions.

Jack recently turned 2 and we had a birthday party at our house - Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed! His Grandma Sheila and Aunt Stephanie came to visit during that time too so we had family and friends share his party with him!  He received a coloring book at the party and LOVED it.  He absolutely loves books.

My sister, Beckie and her kiddos (Alana, Katie and Nathan) came to visit earlier this year as well.  We had such a great time while they were here and cherish the memories.  Jack loves his cousins and we all love them too.  My sister is such a wonderful friend and momma!

After we lost Presley, we decided to take an extremely last minute trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.  We all needed to get out of the house and the trip was the trick.  We visited the Ripley's Aquarium while there and it was pretty cool!  The Tennessee mountains were beautiful.  We were only there for about 24 hours but it was so worth it!

My mom came to visit earlier this year too!  We visited one of our favorite places - Heritage Park.  The flowering trees were in full bloom.  I miss my mom so much and we just love having her visit.

We've been working on adding fitness/physical activity to our lives.  We've been hiking at Paris Mountain (with Jack in the hiking backpack which we share carrying) and we bought Eric a bike so that we can bike the Swamp Rabbit Trail as a family.  Jack tolerates both for awhile and I am convinced that the more that we do it, the better he'll do.  I'll keep trying!  I love all of it.
